Faith

This small painting titled ‘Faith’ has horizontal lines at the bottom right to indicate steps, a start to a journey. It is life, not a still life but the present moment. The swirling circles of red, blue, and green indicate energy.
Everything we see and touch is energy, all vibrating at a different intensity. Our thoughts carry energy, what we are thinking is creating a vibration that tunes to an equivalent transmission which is the basis of the Law of Attraction. This cannot be seen or heard, and it is a powerful invisible force that is the heart of evolution. To have faith is to be aware and in the present moment with no doubt about someone or something. ‘Faith’ requires practice, patience, and a steady, persistent thought which is absent of disbelief. It is a state of mind that remains positive, calm, and resides in looking at things ‘the bright side of life.’ In 1950 Walt Disney produced a film about it called ‘Pollyanna.’ It is, to an extent, make-believe, creating thoughts from your imagination, how you want to see things disregarding reality, and believing in yourself.

Not everyone decides to take up their passion; their paths may be limited by family pressures or perhaps what others think. Or sometimes, they may not feel worthy of doing something different and stepping out of the usual expectations. The painting has led me on a spiritual path, which I am now immensely grateful and proud to have found. My spiritual awakening has been confusing with intense emotions that I didn’t understand. I made mistakes and often led on (what I thought) the wrong paths. But, thankfully, these paths were only there to enrich, expand, and to deepen my belief in faith and the unknown.
My paintings are based on the current moment like water in a stream; it has a current and this is what makes each one quite different. It is not aware of where it has been, the rocks and pools where the water became stuck were temporary. The water soon naturally moved on either through a storm or more rain. I am part of this current of life accepting where I am with no attachments. People come and go, and my environments change. We all change, sometimes more rapidly than the stream will allow.
The key to adapting and following your calling is to be present, which is all we ever have. Being present invites a sense of appreciation and gratitude, which is the elixir and healing force of life. This moment is beautiful and full of opportunities as soon as you open your heart to them and let Faith in.
While painting this, I had just finished reading: The Master Key System by Charles E Handler. He suggests that if you endeavor to ‘develop Faith, the kind of Faith that is the “Substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen,” you can build confidence. Trust that leads to endurance and courage; you will develop the power of concentration, which will enable you to exclude all thoughts except the ones which are associated with your offering.”
If faith is a substance seen, this is my visual offering.
